An end-to-end draw at the Rosaleda

Málaga CF and Atlético Madrid played out a high-quality 2-2 draw in matchday 31 of Liga BBVA. Antoine Griezmann, who scored twice, rescued a draw for Diego Simeone’s men in the 78th minute.

The first half was intense. Early on Atlético started to take control of things, and went close through Fernando Torres. The visitors got their reward after 25 minutes when Griezmann took advantage of an error from Carlos Kameni to tap in from close range and make it 0-1. Despite conceding Málaga did not give up, and they drew level shortly before the break, albeit with the aid of a bit of luck, after Fernando Torres inadvertently headed Recio’s corner into his own goal.

The second half continued in the same vein, with the game being played at a frenetic pace all over the park. It was end to end stuff, and Samuel García sent the Rosaleda crowd into raptures with 20 minutes to go as he made it 2-1. Diego Simeone’s side, however, managed to respond quickly, and it was Griezmann who made it the definitive 2-2 seven minutes later.
