A straightforward fight for survival

Only four points separate UD Almería and their matchday twenty-three opponents, Getafe CF. This is crucial game for the two sides who have previously met on five occasions in the Andalucian city, with two wins for the home side and three for Getafe.

The squads The main new change to the Almería team sheet is José Manuel Casado, who recently arrived during the winter transfer market. Mané, Jonathan Zongo and Rubén Martínez are not in the squad due to injury, neither is Thievy due to his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations. Getafe are without Vicente Guaita, Babá Diawara and Juan Valera, due to injuries, Alexis Ruano, due to a ban, and Mehdi Lacen who is playing in the Africa Cup.

The Almería coach Juan Ignacio Martínez has highlighted the importance of the game: "This is not just another game, there is no room for error. We have to play without nerves, unhurried and without anxiety, failure to do so could be costly for us. We have to have confidence in ourselves and in our work". The coach Quique Sánchez Flores that the teams will be giving everything in the game: "I expect an Almería side who will play as if they are in a final, giving everything".
