A return to winning ways in Gran Canaria?

Las Palmas are itching to get three points to put last matchday's heartbreak against Sevilla FC behind them, but they won't have it easy against Malaga.

SÁB 17.09.2016

Team News:

- UD Las Palmas: Hernan and Jonathan Viera (both injured).

- Malaga CF: Jony and Weligton (both injured).

Match Facts:

Las Palmas (4th, 6 pts):

- The Canary Islanders have only won one of their six LaLiga Santander meetings with Malaga and that came way back in 2000. Since then they have collected three draws and suffered two defeats against the Andalusians in the top flight, so now they will be bidding to even up that head-to-head by adding a second victory.

- Quique Setien's men romped past Granada CF 5-1 in their last home fixture, which was their biggest LaLiga Santander win since a 5-0 thrashing of Cadiz CF in 1986. They will not expect a repeat against Malaga, but will be hoping to continue the strong form they have shown this term in front of their fans, who are in buoyant spirits right now.

Malaga (16th, 2 pts):

- The Andalusians have not prevailed in the Canary Islands in LaLiga Santander since the club was refounded in 1994, having racked up two draws and a loss on their three visits at this level. Juande Ramos's charges head to Gran Canaria intent on changing that record and picking up all three points.

- Las Palmas will be wary of the threat posed by Charles. The Brazilian has only chalked up one double for Malaga and that came against none other than Setien's side last term.
