A close battle in the Martínez Valero

The Martínez Valero will provide the stage for the clash between Elche CF and Córdoba CF; two of the sides in the relegation zone. The home team are playing well and come off the back of a win and a draw. For their part, the Andalusians will be looking for their first win in the Liga BBVA this season.

Elche will have to make do without Manu Herrera, who has a shoulder injury, and Aarón Ñíguez. The visitors will be missing the injured Fausto Rossi, Eduard Campabadal and José Ángel Crespo.

Fran Escribá, the Franquiverdes' manager, spoke of the significance of the match: "It is important, not because of the opponent, but because we are on the up and we need the points in order to achieve our goal".  The visiting coach, Miroslav Djukić, wants his players to remain calm, despite not having won a game: "We can't obsess over it, we just have to think about doing things well and deliver on the things we are working on".
