Villarreal and Sevilla FC will battle it out this Saturday in one of the most hotly anticipated games during the Liga BBVA matchday 17 schedule.
The Yellow Submarine has gone two games without a victory, so will be hoping to reacquaint itself with winning ways in order to hold onto fifth place heading into the new year. Marcelino García Toral will have to look for all three points without Cani though, who is still out due to a knock to his right knee. However, Bruno Soriano rejoins the squad after seeing out his one match suspension last week. "It will be a great match and it would be great to close out the year with a win for the fans. We want to do something about our poor form at home", declared Marcelino.
Meanwhile, seventh placed Sevilla has gone four matches undefeated and has its eyes fixed on the European spots. It won’t be an easy task for Unai Emery’s men, who will be without the injured Alberto Moreno, as well as Diogo Figueiras and Stéphane M'Bia who are both suspended. "We should be setting our sights high and looking to reach that fourth place. That should be within our grasp until the end of the season", the Sevilla coach announced.
