Granada CF will need a win in Los Cármenes to consolidate their current position above the relegation zone and thus hold onto their Liga BBVA status for another season. However, it will be far from an easy task as they prepare to take on an Atlético Madrid side also in search of three valuable points, which would shore up third place for the men from the Spanish capital.

The Andalusians will be missing a number of players for this challenging encounter. Javier Márquez and Lass Bangoura are both suspended for this fixture, while Adrián Colunga, Sulayman Marreh and Jeison Murillo are injured. Meanwhile, the Madrid outfit will travel without the injured Fernando Torres, Mario Mandžukić and Arda Turan.

José Ramón Sandoval, the Granada CF boss, stated that "a good read" of this game would allow either side "to achieve their objectives". "We are up against a team that, in my opinion, has done the best tactical work on the pitch", he continued. Diego Pablo Simeone, the Atlético manager, spoke about the difficulty involved with the final games of the season: "The championship is always a very long competition and when you approach the end of it and are within touching distance of your objectives, the level of responsibility and pressure can really complicate matters".
