Every side needs a conductor leading the orchestra from the sidelines; a coach that helps the club achieve their objectives. For this, Gaizka Garitano, Quique Setién and Fernando Vázquez are nominated for the 'Best Coach in the 2013-14 Liga Adelante' Award at the '2014 LFP Awards Ceremony'.
Gaizka Garitano's work at SD Eibar is truly outstanding. The Basque manager won consecutive promotions to take the Ipurua side from Segunda B to Liga BBVA. Winning 45% of games last season, he took the Gunners to the Liga Adelante title and direct promotion ahead of RC Deportivo. A perfect understanding between him and the players have seen them write their own chapter in the history of Spanish football.
CD Lugo's success in Liga Adelante has Quique Setién at the helm. The man from Cantabria is in his sixth season at the Galician side, and helped them remain in Liga Adelante for the second campaign in a row, finishing mid-table. The side's stability is a hallmark of Setién.
Fernando Vázquez is the final coach nominated. The former Deportivo manager took the Galician outfit straight back to Liga BBVA. Like Garitano, he won 45% of all games in a very even competition. His former charges are currently playing at the top level of Spanish football under the guidance of a new coach.
