LaLiga took part in Madrid's Digital Capital Futurizz congress, held at the city's exhibition centre. Ignacio Martinez Trujillo, managing director of innovation and global development at LaLiga, delivered a talk in which he announced plans for the LaLiga Lab to be launched during the course of June. In the words of Martinez Trujillo, "it will provide everyone with a great opportunity to collaborate and co-create. It's an invitation from LaLiga to the rest of the industry to make the most of the opportunity offered by what'll be a major platform through which to create, connect and build out innovative proposals."

During his talk, LaLiga's managing director of innovation and global development stated that one of LaLiga's main aims revolves around satisfying the needs of those wishing to enjoy the game. As Ignacio Martinez Trujillo put it, "people are demanding that content be made accessible in new formats. Previously we were unable to bring together enough people and the required budget to come up with the ideas and then carry them out." As Martinez Trujillo declared, "in reality, we're not just all about the experience, we also offering pure excitement. We're connected to the world."

Martinez Trujillo also pointed out that, "the entertainment industry is such that people can watch a film or a television series, read a book or watch a debate and all of this falls within this appetite for consuming content," before adding that, "the fact that all of this shares the same space as football means that we're competing against it."

With regards to the consumption of sports content, Martinez Trujillo argued that, "the standard way of watching a football match is no longer any good to us," explaining that, "it's a 360-degree experience, 180 of which focuses on what's going on out on the pitch, whilst the rest is about the relationship between what's happening on the field of play and the supporters."

LaLiga's managing director of innovation and global development went on to explain how, "football has been adapting to the technological advances," before concluding by recalling how, "eighty years ago television was black and white, then in came colour and then things have gone digital. The internet provides us with the chance to go global, and this is a tremendous responsibility."
