Now that the 21st round of LaLiga Santander action is behind us, it's time to reveal the latest LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI.
FC Barcelona take centre stage in this star-studded lineup, with the Catalan giants supplying no fewer than three members of the team. However, the Player of the Matchday honours go to Sevilla FC's Quincy Promes (22 points) on the back of his stellar performance, which featured a goal and an assist, in the Andalusians' 5-0 rout of Levante UD.
On this occasion, Ter Stegen gets the nod between the Best XI sticks after his impressive showing in Barça's away success over Girona FC earned him 11 points. Taking their places in front of him are his teammate Nelson Semedo (15), who put in an assured defensive display and opened the scoring against the Blanquivermells, Valencia CF's Mouctar Diakhaby (16) and Rayo Vallecano defender Luis Advincula (14), both of whom were instrumental in their sides' victories.
The team's engine room features Iker Muniain (15), Dani Parejo (16), Joan Jordan (17) and the aforementioned Promes. The Athletic Club schemer netted one of the goals of the matchday to edge the Basques to a 1-0 win over Real Betis, whilst Parejo caught the eye as Los Che's swept Villarreal CF aside. Meanwhile, Jordan and Promes were amongst the goals in their respective outings.
Last but not least, the side's three-pronged forward line, made up of Lionel Messi and Wissam Ben Yedder (14 points apiece) and Karim Benzema (15), is enough to strike fear into even the meanest of defences. The trio shone as they produced attacking masterclasses to help their teams to maximum points. Benzema outperformed his striking partners after he bagged a brace en route to one of his best performances of the season.
