SL Benfica 1-2 Atletico Madrid
Diego Simeone´s team achieved a hard-worked victory that moves them to the second round as leaders. Atletico went ahead by Saul Ñíguez´s goal in the first half, and in the second, Luciano Vietto extended the lead. A goal from Mitroglou gave wings to the Portuguese, but the strength and solidity of Atlético ended up being key to clinch victory.
Sevilla FC 1-0 Juventus
The Hispalense team needed a win against the Italian side and wait for the Borussia Monchengladbach not win their match against Manchester City to get a place in the UEFA Europa League.
With work and courage, the Andalusians finally achieved their goal thanks to a single goal from Fernando Llorente with a perfect header. Sergio Rico was also instrumental with several superb saves, especially to a shot from close range by Alvaro Morata at the closing stages of the match.
Real Madrid 8-0 Malmo FF
The White team was facing the match without any pressure, with the qualification for the knockout stage as leaders of their group guaranteed. Nevertheless, Rafa Benitez's team showed their ambition at the Santiago Bernabeu and was the delight of the fans with a historic rout.
Karim Benzema scored the first two goals of the clash, while Cristiano Ronaldo signed a poker to take the lead up to 6-0. Mateo Kovačić added the seventh goal and Benzema completed his hat-trick with the 8-0.
