FC Barcelona vs D. Alaves

FC Barcelona’s ElClásico draw with Real Madrid was their second consecutive draw, bringing to an end a run of four successive LaLiga Santander victories. They sit top of the table with 36 points from 17 games, level with Real Madrid in second. This weekend they host a D. Alaves side who are without a win in three league games and sit 14th in the table. They have also only won once in their seven away matches so far this season. FC Barcelona will therefore be confident of victory and will be boosted further by the fact they have won their last six LaLiga Santander meetings with this weekend’s visitors.

Real Madrid vs Athletic Club

Real Madrid’s ElClásico draw with FC Barcelona on Wednesday night was their second draw in a row, having won their previous four consecutive league matches. With 11 wins from 17 league games so far this season, they will be in good spirits ahead of the arrival of seventh place Athletic Club. This weekend’s visitors are without a win in their last two league games, ending a run of three straight victories. Athletic Club will have their work cut out if they want to get back to winning ways, having only beaten Real Madrid twice this decade in LaLiga Santander.

Real Betis vs Atletico de Madrid

Real Betis head into Sunday’s match in good form having won 10 points from their last four LaLiga Santander matches. They secured a hard-fought 2-2 draw away to RCD Espanyol last weekend and will also be buoyed by the fact they have only lost two of their nine home league matches so far this campaign. Atletico de Madrid’s 2-0 victory over C.A. Osasuna was their first win in four LaLiga Santander outings. The visitors have often had the upper hand against Real Betis, winning 13 of the 23 LaLiga Santander meetings between the sides, although the hosts will be buoyed by their 1-0 victory in this fixture last season.

RCD Mallorca vs Sevilla FC

RCD Mallorca are without a win in four LaLiga Santander matches and have picked up only one point from their outings this campaign. They stopped a run of three consecutive losses by drawing with RC Celta last weekend and coming from behind twice will have helped confidence. Third place Sevilla FC suffered their first defeat in nine LaLiga Santander matches last weekend by falling to a 2-1 home loss to Villarreal CF. They will be looking to keep pace with the top two this weekend in what will be the first LaLiga Santander meeting between these two sides since 2013.
