Now into his third season at RC Deportivo, Celso Borges is one of the Costa Rican contingent plying their trade in LaLiga. A key man in the Deportivo ranks, Borges revealed the A Coruña club's objective ahead of the new campaign as being to guarantee their league status, whilst nevertheless stressing that his teammates "aspire to more than just league safety."
The Blanquiazules man welcomes the extra "exposure" that LaLiga World provides both Depor and LaLiga with. "Getting to represent LaLiga in the Americas fills us with great pride and we've come here in a really good frame of mind," enthused the 28-year-old, who went on to note that he prefers to play in a deep-lying role rather than operating in a more advanced position. "I know myself well and I know where I can perform best, which is in the middle of the park," admitted Borges.
Borges also spoke about his hobbies, chief among which is reading, which he wishes he could "do more of." "I really liked Rafa Nadal's autobiography, although my favourite type of books are crime novels like those of [Arthur] Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie," he revealed.
