Bolivia gives full support to LaLiga

Throughout the day on Wednesday 28 October, Bolivian football welcomed with great excitement the visit of the President of LaLiga, Javier Tebas, to La Paz, where he met with various institutions of sport and Bolivian government. The reason for the visit was to strengthen ties of cooperation between the two countries in the field of sport and encourage the development of professional football in the Andean country thanks to the advice of the Spanish professional football.

LaLiga’s day in La Paz began with an official reception at the Ministry of Sports of Bolivia. Tito Montano, sports minister, chaired the meeting in which he spoke with Javier Tebas about football relationships established between the two countries and the future of sport in the Latin American country.

Then there was a packed press conference in the Circle of the Union of La Paz. "I am aware of the economic situation of Bolivian football and the threats to its Federation. I think we're going to provide the rods to resolve this situation. It is a will of LaLiga and the clubs. In Spain, working with the clubs has been essential to overcome the problems" said Tebas, who added that the "CONMEBOL has to recognize the new Bolivian football federation" and that "there must be a catharsis, a radical change in the institutions of world football. Must not remain like properties, like private houses. This will change".

During the course of the visit official lunch, Marco Ortega, interim president of the Bolivian Football Federation (FBF), handed to Javier Tebas a recognition for the work of LaLiga in favor of Bolivian football. The day ended with a working meeting with the committee of referees and the legal commission of the FBF. Representatives of the Uruguayan Football Association also participated in the event.
