BBVA Awards for the best of December

The winners of the BBVA Awards for the best managers and players in December, which are given by the Liga de Fútbol Profesional's main sponsor, have been announced.

Real Sociedad de Fútbol and SD Eibar have monopolised the BBVA Awards for December. The manager Jagoba Arrasate will receive the BBVA award for the best Liga BBVA coach in December. With him at the helm, the team from Donostia have moved into the European spots. His striker Carlos Vela has been chosen as last month's best player and he will receive the BBVA award for his performances. The Mexican is one of the txuri-urdin's star strikers and one of the top goal-scorers in the national league.

In the Liga Adelante, Gaizka Garitano has doubled up on the prize he bagged in November. Eibar have become the surprise package of the season as they currently lie in third place in the Liga Adelante table. The BBVA Award for the best Liga Adelante player has also gone to a man from the team from Gipuzkoa. José Luis Morales is one of the stalwarts of Eibar and one of the main reasons why the team have their best ever start to the season.

The panel of judges is formed by football professionals who are very familiar with the Liga BBVA and Liga Adelante, and who have no links to any of the clubs in the competition.
