Almería looking for a much-needed victory

The Andalusian side will look to take a forward step in their battle for safety with a win at Espanyol, a side comfortably in mid-table.

RCD Espanyol and UD Almería meet in Sunday's first game in round 35 of Liga BBVA.

The Catalan outfit, who sit comfortably in tenth, will be looking for their eighth win of the season at the Estadio Cornellà-El Prat. "We have to be on the ball and continue. We can’t down tools", said Javier Aguirre, who will be without the injured duo Abraham González and Felipe Mattioni.

Almería, on the other hand, need the win. They sit second bottom of the table, and a win in Barcelona would keep their hopes of staying up alive, given they’re only two points off safety, and manager Francisco Rodríguez emphasised this: "We know that only a win will do in our fight to say up, and we go into the game ready, with faith and hope". Marcos Tébar misses out through suspension, and injured duo Verza and Hans Martínez will also be unavailable.
