The countdown is well and truly on to the 21st edition of the LaLiga Promises International Tournament, an event which, after taking place in Miami in 2015, is returning to Tenerife courtesy of LaLiga and the Jose Ramon de la Morena Foundation. Stars of the future from the academies of eight Spanish outfits and four major foreign clubs will be strutting their stuff at the Estadio Municipal El Peñon, in the city of Puerto de la Cruz.
This edition will see Villarreal CF, the champions at the 25th PAMESA LaLiga Promises National Tournament earlier this year, fly the flag for Spain alongside Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, R. Sporting, Real Betis, Valencia CF and Sevilla FC. Meanwhile, Juventus FC, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain FC and Middlesbrough FC are the international guests who will be taking part in a prestigious event that knows no boundaries.
The competition will kick off on Tuesday 27 December at 10:00 local time (11:00 CET), with an exciting opening day of group matches lined up. Each fixture will last 24 minutes, with a three-minute half-time break in between the 12-minute halves. The remaining group games will take place on Wednesday the 28th and the quarter-finals will follow on the same day. The tournament will reach its conclusion on Thursday the 29th with the semi-finals scheduled before the LaLiga Promises final at 20:30 (21:30 CET).
Fans will be able to keep up with the action live on LaLiga TV, GOL, LaSexta and LaLiga's YouTube channel, while the tournament's official hashtag is #LaLigaPromises.
The LaLiga Promises microsite is your first port of call for all the latest news on the tournament with photos and videos from each day of the action. It also offers supporters the chance to look back at previous editions of the competition.
