Cristian Alvarez named LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for February

Cristian Alvarez, the R. Zaragoza player, has been named the LaLiga SmartBank Player of the Month for February. The Argentinian goalkeeper was instrumental in ensuring his side avoided defeat in all six games played last month, as well as managing to keep a clean sheet in one of those matches.

The player from Rosario started the month on sensational form, keeping Cadiz CF at bay at the Carranza (1-1), which is never an easy place to go. A meritorious start was made better with a clean sheet against CF Fuenlabrada, before helping his team on their way to their first win of the month against Elche CF. In the following three games he kept the Aragonese outfit in contention and adding points to their tally, and they now sit in second place in LaLiga SmartBank.

Alvarez will collect his award in front of his fans before the match between Zaragoza and AD Alcorcon to be played on 15 March.
