Javi Guerra's start to the season at Real Valladolid CF has been nothing short of spectacular. In his fourth campaign with the side, the forward from Malaga has already scored seven Liga BBVA goals, one fewer than he managed in the whole of last season.

After starting his career at Motril CF, his ventures in the world of football eventually led to a Liga BBVA debut with Valencia CF in the 2006/7 season. However, it was not until last season that the striker settled in the division in the ranks of Valladolid.

Since his arrival at the Castile and Leon outfit three years ago, Guerra has won his place in the strikeforce through sheer goal-power. In his first year he found the net 28 times in the Liga Adelante to take the team to the promotion playoffs and ended the season as second top goal-scorer behind Jonathan Soriano, who played for FC Barcelona B at the time.

In his second campaign in the Estadio Municipal José Zorrilla, Javi Guerra was one of the architects of the side's promotion, scoring 17 goals in 36 Liga Adelante matches. After Valladolid finished third, Guerra scored a goal in the playoffs against Córdoba CF and two against AD Alcorcón in the playoff final, making him the team's top goal-scorer for the second year on the trot.

In his first full season in the Liga BBVA, the forward from Andalusia scored eight goals in 30 matches allowing him to fight for a place in the starting line-up with Manucho and only Óscar González, with 12 goals, found the net more often for the side.

So far this season fortune has smiled upon Valladolid's number 9 and he has already put the ball in the net seven times in the Liga BBVA.
