Reigning champions Atlético Madrid pay a visit to the Anoeta Stadium in matchday 11 of La Liga BBVA. The home side, Real Sociedad, are second from bottom with six points, and only one win to their names all season. The situation for the Rojiblancos, who are on 23 points and have won their last three matches, could hardly be more different.

Team news

Carlos Martínez, Xabi Prieto and Gero Rulli are back in contention for the Basque side. Atlético have a full squad to choose from.

View from the bench

Asier Santana, Real Sociedad's interim manager, had this to say of his opponents: "They are intense, tough and strong. Very efficient. A good, well-organised side. They are also one of the best sides in Europe from free kicks."

The Argentinean Simeone pointed to his opponents' strong points: "They've got a lot going for them. They've clearly had a great few seasons. They've got a lot of good players, and tomorrow I expect them to be at their best."
