The break for internationals has produced some bad news for Real Madrid CF. The Whites will be without the Croatian midfielder Luka Modrić due to a torn proximal tendon in the left rectus femoris.
The player was forced off in the 26th minute of the match between Italy and Croatia in the UEFA EURO 2016 qualifying stage. After undergoing an MRI scan, the Real Madrid medical team determined the injury, which sees Carlo Ancelotti lose one of his key men in midfield.
The Croat had played in all of Real Madrid’s games this season and was in the starting eleven in all but one. His performances this season have yielded 647 passes and a goal in the Liga BBVA.
