CD Leganes 3-0 SD Ponferradina
It turned out to be an excellent weekend for the Liga Adelante's leaders, who claimed maximum points and saw their three closest pursuers all slip up. Leganes got their noses in front shortly before half-time through an Omar Ramos strike, before a second-half brace from Ruben Peña sealed all three points for the Madrid side. Asier Garitano's men now hold a two-point cushion over second-placed D. Alaves.
D. Alaves 0-0 Elche CF
Alaves missed out on the chance to stay level on points with Leganes after a goalless draw against an Elche side who are unbeaten in eight and have been breached just once in their last six outings. The visitors' goalkeeper, Javi Jimenez, produced a fine save to keep out a Gaizka Toquero effort, as Elche claimed another point in their quest to make the play-offs.
UE Llagostera 1-1 Gimnastic
Nastic extended their stay in the play-off places for a further week after emerging from their all-Catalan Matchday 35 clash against Llagostera with a point. A fantastic finish from Jose Naranjo put the visitors ahead, but Nastic's joy was short-lived as Natalio struck to salvage a point for the hosts, who remain in the drop zone.
R. Oviedo 0-1 SD Huesca
Huesca pulled off the surprise of the weekend by claiming a 1-0 win at Oviedo. A Fran Merida header handed the visitors a victory which moves them out of the bottom four. Meanwhile, Oviedo's lead in the race for the play-offs has been cut by the chasing pack.
Albacete 0-3 Girona FC
Girona were another of the division's sides to enjoy a fruitful weekend. The Catalans eased to victory at Albacete to put themselves firmly in the promotion shake-up. Jaime Mata set Girona on their way with an early spot-kick, before he doubled his side's advantage just after the break. Florian Lejeune got his name on the scoresheet late on to round off an emphatic win. This defeat sees Albacete remain in the relegation zone, with their survival hopes beginning to look all the more remote.
At. Osasuna 1-0 R. Valladolid CF
The side from Pamplona took a big step forward in their pursuit of the teams in the title race by prevailing 1-0 against Valladolid, whose play-off hopes are fading fast. A 34th-minute header from Nino clinched the three points for Enrique Martin's men, who continue to dream of gracing the Liga BBVA next season.
Cordoba CF 0-0 CD Tenerife
The spoils were shared at El Arcangel, where Cordoba are still yet to taste victory in the second half of the campaign. The hosts dominated throughout and were the more threatening, but their finishing was wayward. Pedro Rios just missed the target with the Andalusians' best opportunity, while Anthony Lozano could have given the visitors the lead, but Brimah Razak was equal to his effort. Cordoba had two chances to win it late on, but these too went begging and Tenerife took a point back to the islands.
CD Lugo 2-1 RCD Mallorca
Fernando Seoane's stoppage-time strike snatched victory for the Galicians and left Mallorca just a point above the relegation zone. Lugo gradually imposed themselves on the game and forged in front in the 22nd minute, Jonathan Pereira breaking the deadlock following Joselu's great ball across goal. With 10 minutes to go, Damia Sabater made it all square with a beauty from outside the box, but Lugo were not to be denied and claimed the three points through a drive from distance of their own, courtesy of Seoane.
UD Almeria 3-2 Athletic Club B
Kalu Uche boosted Almeria's survival chances with a 90th-minute winner against basement boys Athletic B. Jose Angel Pozo opened the scoring for the hosts with an effort that just crept into the bottom corner, only for Iker Guarrotxena to level eight minutes later. The script repeated itself in the second half, with Quique Gonzalez putting Almeria's noses back in front and Urtzi Iriondo smashing home a second equaliser not long after. Uche would have the last laugh, however, settling the encounter right at the death.
CD Mirandes 0-2 CD Numancia
Numancia furthered their bid to stay up with a hard-fought away win. Jagoba Arrasate's charges went ahead in the 20th minute, Francisco Regalon's shot deflecting off an opposition player and into the net, before David Concha doubled their advantage at Anduva less than a quarter of an hour later. Although Mirandes piled on the pressure in front of their fans, Numancia clung on to secure a 2-0 triumph.
R. Zaragoza 3-1 AD Alcorcón
A stellar showing from Jean Marie Dongou, complete with a brace, helped Zaragoza to turn the tables on Alcorcon and scoop a victory that propelled them into third place in the Liga Adelante table. Rafa Paez made it 1-0 to the away team in the 11th minute, only for Javi Ros to draw the hosts level. That set the stage for Dongou's match-winning double, which enabled Zaragoza to move back to within five points of leaders Leganes.
