Within touching distance of survival

With four matchdays of the season remaining, both sides are mighty close to sealing their top-flight status. A win here would mathematically guarantee Liga BBVA safety for Las Palmas, whilst three points for Espanyol would all but see them retain their league status.

-RCD Espanyol: Anaitz Arbilla, Felipe Caicedo, Jose Cañas, Oscar Duarte, Rober ( all injured); Victor Sanchez (suspended)

Match Facts:

Las Palmas (13th, 40 pts):

- A win for the Canary Islanders would mathematically seal their survival, with three matchdays still to play.

- Quique Setien's side have been a real revelation this term and despite losing on Tuesday (away to Real Betis), the hosts come into this one having done all of the hard work on the back of a ten-game sequence which included six wins, one draw and three defeats (to FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Betis).

- Many observers put the Islanders' excellent second half of the campaign down to the side's ability in the final third, and despite Setien's footballing philosophy being based on possession and peppering the opposition's goal, the team's success owes in no small part to their defensive solidity. Indeed, the Amarillos backline has been breached on just eight occasions in the last 10 outings, in a run in which they came up against Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Espanyol (15th, 37 pts):

- The point picked up against RC Celta at the Cornella saw the Catalan outfit edge a step closer to safety, but there's still work to be done.

-Constantin Galca's charges have not managed a win in the last four, but they're only too aware that claiming all three points here would leave them on the brink of survival.

-Marco Asensio is a key man for the Pericos. He produced a fantastic finish to get his name on the scoresheet last time out and will be bidding to be amongst the goals again here as he looks to register in back-to-back games for the first time this season.

Don't leave Las Palmas without… enjoying some of the best views the island has to offer. But just how do you go about that? Simply by following the Red de Miradores de Gran Canaria (Gran Canaria's network of vantage points). The route takes you from one unique landscape to the next in what is the most ideal way to catch a glimpse of the hidden treasures to be found on this miniature continent.
