Previously… Alen Peternac (Zagreb, Croatia, 1972) was a Croatian striker who plied his trade at Real Valladolid CF, Real Murcia CF and Real Zaragoza.
His achievements… His first campaign in Spanish football could not have been more successful in terms of goals, as he found the net 23 times in the 1995/96 season with Valladolid. After five seasons with the club, Peternac moved to Zaragoza, where he had a taste of success as they won the 2001 Copa del Rey.
After hanging up his boots… He retired while at Real Zaragoza in 2003, having played on loan to Murcia the previous year. He continued to work in the world of football as an agent.
Did you know… Peternac was the hero of Valladolid’s historic 8-3 win over Real Oviedo in the 95/96 season. The Croatian striker had an unforgettable afternoon, scoring five goals that helped the club take a giant leap towards safety.
