The Power8 Stadium will be the setting for a clash between two of the Liga BBVA’s standout teams this season when RCD Espanyol take on Nuno Espírito Santo’s Valencia CF. Both sides suffered defeats in their last outings but have their sights set on eighth and fourth place respectively.

Team news

Kiko Casilla is suspended for this game, while Abraham González’s injury means he will not be part of Sergio González’s plans either. The most notable inclusion in the Catalans’ squad is reserve team goalkeeper Andrés Prieto. Meanwhile, João Cancelo and Nicolás Otamendi will also sit this one out because of suspensions.

Views from the dugouts

The home side’s boss, Sergio González, expects a thrilling encounter against Los Che: "We will put out our best team, no one will be rested. Beating Valencia would be the best way of preparing for our next Copa del Rey match". Meanwhile, Nuno declared that "unity, commitment and team work" will be key to doing well in this fixture.
