Excitement, competitiveness and expectation are the three words that sum up Spanish football. The Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante are providing fans with one of the most thrilling championships in recent memory and, above all else, have made the Liga de Fútbol Profesional's divisions the most lauded in Europe.
The presence of the big names is one of La Liga's main draws. The goals and magic showcased each week by players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr., Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Álvaro Negredo and Antoine Griezmann, to name but a few, ensure that all eyes from the world of football are fixed on the Liga BBVA and the Liga Adelante.
Millions of fans from New Zealand, the United States and Mexico, and as far away as Japan, China, Russia and South America, sit down and tune in every weekend to watch the best teams from Spain.
The difference is astounding. If we focus solely on goals scored, it is the Spanish championship that can claim to have the best strikers.

The Liga Adelante is also top of the charts
The Spanish second tier stands above its European counterparts. While there are clear frontrunners in divisions like the Championship and the Bundesliga II, where the relegation places have also almost been determined with various teams now in a position where securing safety is virtually impossible, it is a completely different story in the Liga Adelante, with UD Las Palmas, R. Valladolid CF, R. Sporting and Girona FC all still very much in contention for a place in the Liga BBVA next season.
It should also be noted that the current winners of the European competitions also hail from Spain. Real Madrid lifted the UEFA Champions League after beating Atlético in May and then won the FIFA Club World Cup, while Sevilla FC were crowned UEFA Europa League champions.
The reasons outlined give just a taste of the high level of competition offered up by Spanish football, where world-class players like Luis Suárez, Mario Mandžukić, Enzo Pérez, Lucas Silva and Fernando Torres have all decided to be part of the La Liga galaxy of stars.
