Atletico Madrid Women are in Sweden to take part in the inaugural edition of LaLiga Women, a project that provides the latest proof of LaLiga's ongoing support for the ladies' game. During their time in the Scandinavian country, Angel Villacampa's charges will play two games, the first of which comes against Linkopings Fotboll Club.
Linkopings FC were founded in 2003 and did not take long to establish themselves as one of the top clubs in Sweden, as attested to by their haul of six trophies in a dozen years.

Indeed, the Linkoping-based outfit can lay claim to being the country's cup queens, having won the Svenska Cupen Damer, the domestic cup, no fewer than five times: in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2014 and 2015. Their other piece of silverware was the 2009 Damallsvenskan (women's top flight) title, while last season they finished fourth.
Linkopings have a blue home kit and a red away strip, and play their home matches at the Linkoping Arena. Seating 8,400 people, this is the only purpose-built women's football stadium in Europe, and it staged four matches at the 2013 European Women's Championship.
