  • He was born in Parla, where he still lives with his parents and his elder brother.
  • In 2007 he joined the Real Madrid academy, aged 10. Since then he has turned out for all of the Los Blancos youth sides.
  • His brother 'Kiti', who is five years his senior, came through the youth ranks at Atletico Madrid whilst Borja was at Real Madrid.
  • Based on the 148 goals that he has scored since the start of the 2012/13 campaign, he's the top performing youth player at Real Madrid since Raul. His scoring record includes 22 goals for the Juvenil C, 54 for the Juvenil B, 61 for the Juvenil A plus the 11 goals he has netted for Castilla so far this term.
  • In the last fortnight, Mayoral has made one appearance for the Juvenil side, another for Castilla, has been named in the first-team squad on four occasions, and even made his senior debut in the derby against Atletico. In this two-week period he has scored three goals.
  • His heroes are Raul Gonzalez and Karim Benzema. He currently shares a dressing room and is fighting for a starting birth with the latter.
  • During his career he has worn the following shirt numbers: 9, 29, 43, 16 and 17.
  • Just a month ago, Real Madrid, aware of his tremendous potential, offered him a new deal to keep him at the Bernabeu until 2021.
  • Last summer he became a European U-19s Championship winner where his three goals saw him land the tournament's Golden Boot award. He was one of the stars of the championships alongside the likes of Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Jesus Vallejo, Jorge Mere, David Concha, Mikel Merino and Borja San Emeterio.
  • He has netted 14 times in 12 UEFA Youth League appearances during the 2014/15 and the 2015/16 seasons.
