Every edition of El Clasico guarantees excitement, and all the more so when there is silverware on the line. As such, Wednesday night's clash at the Santiago Bernabeu promises to be a scintillating spectacle that you won't want to take your eyes off, as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona do battle for the Spanish Super Cup in a mouth-watering appetiser ahead of the start of the LaLiga Santander season.
Los Blancos go into the match with a 3-1 lead from the first leg at the Camp Nou, where stunning late goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Marco Asensio made the difference. Nevertheless, Zinedine Zidane is mindful that his team can take nothing for granted as they bid to clinch their second trophy of this embryonic campaign, after the UEFA Super Cup. "We're going to have to play well, very well indeed, because Barcelona are a great side who can make life difficult for you at any moment."
Los Azulgranas, for their part, are intent on producing one of the club's most memorable performances at the Bernabeu in order to capture their 13th Supercopa crown. The Catalans' coach, Ernesto Valverde, is adamant that his charges will be holding nothing back as they seek to turn the tie around: "Nothing is impossible. We're not approaching it as a lost cause. Our results over there in recent years give us belief and we will go for it."
