Sevilla FC will kick off their pre-season by taking part in the LaLiga World project, through which they will look to get their preparations for the 2016/2017 campaign off to the best possible start. The Andalusians will be jetting off to the United States, specifically to Orlando, Florida, to play friendlies against big-name opposition in Argentina's River Plate and Colombia's Club Independiente Santa Fe.
The Europa League champions will face the Copa Libertadores winners River on Saturday 16 July (20:00 ET) at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando. They will play their second game in the same venue against Santa Fe, the reigning Copa Sudamericana champions, on Tuesday 19 July (20:00 ET).
This will be Sevilla's second adventure within the framework of LaLiga World, an initiative which seeks to raise the international profile of Spanish clubs. In 2014, the Andalusians went on an Asian tour that took them to both Malaysia and Indonesia as part of the programme.
The Andalusians are the third club to visit the United States as part of the LaLiga World project in 2016. Real Sociedad and Eibar completed end-of-season tours to play friendlies there in May.
