Levante UD 3-1 UCAM Murcia CF
The LaLiga 1l2l3 champions pulled off another victory, this time against UCAM. However, it was the Murcian outfit who opened the scoring through a towering header by Jona, only for Natxo Insa's strike and two cool finishes by Juan Muñiz to turn the scoreline on its head and secure the three points for Levante.
SD Huesca 1-0 CD Lugo
Huesca notched up three massive points against a direct rival in the fight for a place in the LaLiga Santander promotion playoffs. Samu Saiz's sixth-minute strike was enough to give the home side victory. The win means Juan Antonio Anquela's charges remain in the promotion battle right down to the last game of the season. CD Lugo, on the other hand, are now out of the running.
Sevilla Atletico 3-3 Cadiz CF
Sevilla's youth team and Cadiz served up one of the most thrilling encounters of the weekend. Marc Gual hammered in two goals for Sevilla At., who maintained the upper hand throughout the game, and Ivi converted from the spot for their third. Meanwhile, Ager Aketxe fired home a belter of a free-kick for Cadiz, and Alvaro Garcia and Rafidine Abdullah got the other two goals for the visitors. The draw keeps Cadiz in contention for promotion to LaLiga Santander.
R. Valladolid CF 1-0 Getafe CF
Getafe spurned a fantastic chance to guarantee themselves a place in the LaLiga Santander playoffs. R. Valladolid were too strong for Los Azulones. Alex Perez netted the only goal of the game for the hosts on 71 minutes, and the victory keeps Paco Herrera's men on track for their objective this season: a place in the playoffs.
UD Almeria 2-0 CD Mirandes
Mirandes bid farewell to LaLiga 1l2l3 following defeat at the hands of Almeria. Two Quique Gonzalez goals, the first of them a spectacular overhead kick, gave the Andalusian outfit three vital points to distance them from the relegation zone.
AD Alcorcon 1-3 CD Tenerife
CD Tenerife took a giant step forward in their attempts to secure a playoff spot after winning away at the Santo Domingo. Goals from Anthony ‘Choco’ Lozano and Gaku Shibasaki saw the visitors cruise into a comfortable lead going into the break, and although Oscar Plano pulled a goal back for the home side with a fantastic free-kick shortly after the interval, Tyronne sealed the win for the Canary Islanders which leaves Tenerife sitting pretty in the playoff places. On the other hand, Alcorcon's chances of staying up look increasingly slim.
R. Zaragoza 1-1 Rayo Vallecano
Both teams had LaLiga 1|2|3 survival at stake, and the tension was palpable at La Romareda. R. Zaragoza took the lead in the first half thanks to a strike from Jorge Pombo, but Rayo Vallecano refused to lie down, and their resilience was rewarded with a goal. It came from the feet of Adri Embarba, who notched in injury time, handing his side a vital point. The Madridians only need another point in the next matchday to be sure of their place in the second division for next season.
Nastic 3-1 Girona FC
Nastic put on a fantastic performance and climbed out of the drop zone after beating a Girona FC side who were unable to certify their promotion to LaLiga Santander. The home side were better throughout, thanks in no small part to veteran striker Ikechukwu Uche. Pablo Machin’s side hit the ground running and took the lead within sixty seconds thanks to a strike by Pablo Matteo, but Nastic turned the match around after Manu Barreiro netted in the 50th minute, and sealed the match with Uche's double.
Elche 1-1 Reus
While Nastic are still worrying about survival, CF Reus are now assured of their place in the division after drawing at Elche CF. It took a while for onlookers to see any goalmouth action, and it was Reus who struck the first blow, after Vitor Silva opened the scoring in the 73rd minute. Yet their joy was short-lived, as only four minutes later Sory Kaba found the net to give Elche a point. It's a bittersweet point for the home side, but Reus aren't disappointed, as they know they'll once more be playing in LaLiga 1|2|3 next season.
RCD Mallorca 0-0 CD Numancia
A goalless day in Mallorca, something neither side can be happy about. Although CD Numancia have edged closer to safety, they are still yet to mathematically confirm their place in this division for the next campaign. Meanwhile, it's the end of another matchday lurking in the danger zone for RCD Mallorca, who sit on 43 points and have just two more games to save their season.
Cordoba CF 4-2 Real Oviedo
The Andalusians claimed three important points in their battle against the drop. Federico Piovaccari stood out for the home side, with his goals taking them into a 2-0 lead, with the first coming right after kick-off. With half time approaching, Alejandro Alfaro notched another, and soon after the break Javi Lara all but secured the result for Cordoba. Yet the match was far from over, as Saul Berjon and Miguel Linares pulled two back, and Cordoba can be grateful for the stellar efforts of their keeper Pawel Kieszek, who saved a penalty and pulled off several great saves.
