Salomão helps Deportivo seal their miracle

RC Deportivo sealed their safety in the final game of the Liga BBVA season after securing a 2-2 draw with Barcelona. The Galician side were trailing 2-0 but never gave up and ended up drawing thanks to a heroic goal from Diogo Salomão after 76 minutes.

The game could not have started off worse for the visitors as Barcelona took the lead after just five minutes. Rafinha set up Leo Messi following a Fabricio save to make it 1-0. Shortly after Fabricio stopped it from getting worse as he kept of Messi and Pedro from close range. Before the break Xavi, who was playing his final Liga BBVA game for the Catalan side, tried his luck, however his effort was blocked. 

The game followed a similar script for Depor after the restart as Messi made it 2-0 on the hour following a brilliant Neymar assist. When everything seemed lost, the side from Galicia did not lose faith and after 67 minutes Lucas Pérez breathed life into their survival bid. It was completed by Salomão on 76 and Barça were able to celebrate their title with their fans and the visitors, who were also celebrating their safety on the Camp Nou pitch.
