Real Sociedad B claim a place in LaLiga SmartBank 2021/22

With a golden generation, 60 years on and managed by club icon Xabi Alonso, Real Sociedad B have claimed a place in LaLiga SmartBank next season. They have achieved the feat on the back of a brilliant season in which they finished top of their group and scored the most goals in the competition, before coming out on top in the two promotion play-off ties played in Almendralejo. First they overcame FC Andorra (2-1) and then went on to beat Algeciras CF (2-1, in extra time) in the match which finally earned them a ticket to LaLiga SmartBank 2021/22.

It was third time lucky for El Sanse, who came within a whisker of promotion in 2006 and 2018. However, fate and their football conspired to make the Txuri-Urdin youth team wait until 2021 to return to the professional category, doing so at the hands of one of the club's legends. Xabi Alonso has done it in his first season as manager.
