Real Madrid give Almería nothing

Real Madrid are not relenting in the fight for the Liga BBVA title following their 3-0 win over UD Almería in matchday 34. A spectacular James Rodríguez effort paved the way for Carlo Ancelotti's men.

It was the home side that threatened early, with James, Jesé Rodríguez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Chicharito all looking to find a way past an Almería side that were compact in the first half, restricting Madrid to efforts from distance. James and Cristiano had the game's clearest chances, however it was the Colombian who scored a spectacular goal to make it 1-0 just before the break.

Ancelotti’s side could not have asked for a better start in the second half, doubling their advantage thanks to a Mauro dos Santos own goal from a Toni Kroos cross. This goal effectively decided the game, and the home side wanted to finish in style, doing so through Álvaro Arbeloa, who latched onto a Chicharito cross to make it 3-0. Real Madrid now have 82 points, just two behind the league leaders.
