Real Madrid are just two games away from the Champions League final. That is the attitude which the team coached by Zinedine Zidane are taking to England as they prepare to face Manchester City. Of those two games, the first of them to be played at the Etihad Stadium will dictate the situation going into the second leg of the tie.
Despite the fact that they were missing players during the latest Liga BBVA matchday, the French coach has explained that, in principle, "the plan is for Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema to play this match." Dani Carvajal also missed out on the game against Rayo Vallecano, but will be available to play in Manchester.

The results of previous games between the two sides offer Madrid plenty to be optimistic about. The last time that they faced each other at the Sky Blues' home ground, the match ended in a draw with a goal apiece (2012/13). That was in the group stage of the Champions League, and Madrid won 3-2 in the return game at the Santiago Bernabeu.
As for Manchester City, there is little in the way of good news as the match approaches. Yaya Toure, an essential part of Manuel Pellegrini's central midfield, will miss out through injury. The Chilean coach gave his view on the clash against Madrid and the quality of Ronaldo in the run-up to his team's first Champions League semi-final: "Ronaldo is a very good player, but we have to worry about Real Madrid. We need to work as a team."
