Pedro Rodríguez has moved to prolong his ties to FC Barcelona after the 27-year-old reached a deal with the Catalan side over a three-year extension to his contract. Due to expire in June next year, the agreement between club and player will now run until 2019.
The Spain international has completed his eighth season in the FC Barcelona first-team set-up, and has so far won 5 Liga BBVA titles, 3 Copas del Rey, 2 UEFA Champions Leagues, 4 Spanish Super Cups, 2 UEFA Super Cups and 2 FIFA Club World Cups. He has made over 300 competitive appearances for the club, scoring more than 100 goals.
This season he did not enjoy a central role at los azulgranas, playing 35 games in the Liga BBVA with just 15 coming as a starter, and featuring for a total of 1,529 minutes. He found the net six times, all from inside the area, and the majority – five – were scored with his favoured right foot.
