Official Statement

LaLiga wishes to inform of the agreement adopted during the League Meeting held on 31 May according to which both Atletico Madrid and VillarrealCF shall be allowed to reverse their first LaLiga Santander home fixture of the season. This decision was taken in view of the fact that both clubs will be unable to host fixtures at this time due to the renovation work being undertaken on their stadiums.

As a result, the home games that these two clubs are handed on either Matchday 1 or 2 in the draw for the season's fixtures, which is to be staged on Friday 21 July, will be reversed. The aforementioned clubs will contest both their Matchday 1 and 2 fixtures as the away side, whilst they will host their Matchday 20 and 21 games.
