RC Celta ran out 1-0 winners against Málaga CF on matchday 34 of the Liga BBVA. Although the there were plenty of chances to break the deadlock in Baladíos, it remained scoreless until the 89th minute, when Nolito got the only goal of the game.

The home side controlled things during the early stages, with Eduardo Berizzo’s men bearing down on Carlos Kameni’s goal time and time again in search of opener. Charles Dias had just the Cameroonian keeper to beat in the 27' but sent his effort over the bar. Málaga slowly began to get into the game, with Sergi Darder squandering a clear-cut chance in the 34th minute. The Majorca native was one on one with Sergio Álvarez but saw his shot come off the post and whiz straight across the mouth of the goal.

Málaga had to back-to-back chances ten minutes after the restart, with Ricardo Horta and Nourredine Amrabat both narrowly missing. The home team also came close on two occasions, first when a Charles’ header hit the crossbar, and then when Pablo Hernández, with Kameni well beaten, almost found the back of the net yet again. Málaga looked to hit the visitors on the break. Amrabat broke into the box and struck on goal, however, his shot went wide to the left of Sergio’s post. Just as it looked as a 0-0 was on the cards, Nolito popped up to snatch all three points for the Vigo outfit.
