Málaga CF go into matchday 9 of the Liga BBVA on twelve points and seeking their third victory in a row this season after beating Granada CF (2-1) and Córdoba CF (1-2). Rayo Vallecano are a point below their opponents in the morning session on Sunday, and with a good record away from home, looking for their third consecutive victory on the road.
Team news
Andalusian coach, Javi Gracia, sticks with the same line-up as last week, which means Tissone, Roberto Chen and Flavio Ferreira are all absent. In Madrid, Alberto Bueno, one of the team's key men so far, will be out with a sprained ankle. Abdoulaye Ba will also miss the match through suspension.
Views from the dugout
"With this opposition we'll have to be on the ball and play well tactically. We're going into the game hoping to claim our third victory on the trot", said the Málaga manager Gracia. His counterpart for the Vallecas side, Paco Jémez, praised his opponent's recent form. "Málaga have put together a great team, with a lot of variables. They have very good players".
