Málaga CF made their home advantage count on matchday 27 of the Liga BBVA as they beat Córdoba CF 2-0. Juanmi Jiménez and Nordi Amrabat were the goalscorers in a game the home side dominated from start to finish.
After some back-and-forth between the sides during the opening exchanges of the match, it was Málaga who began to take control of the ball. The Costa del Sol outfit created various chances on goal, although the clearest fell to Arthur Boka, who saw his shot smash off Mikel Saizar’s woodwork. Córdoba hit back shortly afterwards when Nabil Ghilas had a golden opportunity to put the visitors ahead but Algerian striker was unable to get past Carlos Kameni.
The score did not change with the start of the second half and Javi Gracia’s team continued to dominate the game. Ricardo Horta came close to netting the second goal of the game with a right-footed effort that came off the crossbar just before Nordin Amrabat shored things up. This result sees Málaga hold onto seventh place, while Córdoba failed to register a point for an eight straight matchday.
