Lionel Messi’s 2014/15 season in the Liga BBVA with FC Barcelona

• The Argentine has once again led the Azulgrana to win the Liga BBVA title by being the second highest assist maker of the championship with 18 and the second highest goalscorer with 43 goals. One of those key goals he scored in the penultimate game of the league season against Atlético de Madrid to seal the title.

• This season Leo Messi has left his mark on the history of the competition by becoming the all-time leading goalscorer, surpassing Telmo Zarra. He took the record on matchday 12 against Sevilla FC thanks to a hat-trick which moved him onto 253 goals in the competition. Currently, the Argentine has 283 goals in the Liga BBVA.

• The FC Barcelona star has shown his consistency in the competition by being an ever-present in the team of the month for seven consecutive months, from November until May.
