RCD Mallorca - Valladolid CF (12pm)

Two sides with plenty of Spanish footballing pedigree kick off Sunday’s action in the Iberostar Stadium. The home team are enjoying their football of late, having picked up 7 points from the last 9 available, so this will not be a walk in the park for the opposition who, with 38 points, currently lie third in the table.

This important clash will also feature the Castile and León outfit’s new signing, goalkeeper Raúl Fernández. "Mallorca are a team that go on streaks and at the moment they are enjoying a good one, with three clean sheets on the bounce", stated the visitors’ manager Rubi. His counterpart, Valeri Karpin, on the other hand, had plenty of respect to show Valladolid: "They are a good side, they’re very well drilled and have some very interesting players. I’m not worried about the team dropping their heads if they don’t win".

Real Sporting - CD Numancia (5pm)

After suffering their first defeat of the season at the hands of Real Betis (1-2), the Asturian outfit get ready to take on a Numancia side that have drawn their last five games. For this hard-to-call encounter Sporting will have to make do without Rachid, who will be sidelined for two and a half months.

In his pre-match press conference, Abelardo Fernández made it clear that his Sporting side will not be relaxing during the second half of the season: "We want to continue picking up similar results to the first half of the season. We are in good spirits and have racked up an excellent points tally".

FC Barcelona B - CA Osasuna (5pm)

Jan Urban’s charges will be full of confidence heading to the Mini Estadi on the back of finishing their last five games with points. FC Barcelona B, meanwhile, made a big statement last weekend by beating RC Recreativo (3-1) and have moved a few places higher in the table, so there is certain to be a massive amount of excitement in the Catalans’ ground.

"The team’s spirits were lifted after last Sunday’s win against Recreativo. It has filled us with energy and confidence for the upcoming games. We know that this is the path we must follow" declared the azulgrana coach Eusebio Sacristán.

AD Alcorcón - Albacete B. (6pm)

The Liga Adelante’s bottom-placed side take on Alcorcón and are urgently in need of points in to fight their way to safety. The Madrid team are in a comfortable position in the table and have gone three games unbeaten.

Luis César Sampedro stated, "we are looking at the second half of the season as if it were a new competition. We’re sure to improve. It would be impossible for us to pick up less points than we did in the first half of the season". The visiting coach will be without Edu Ramos and Antoñito, who are both suspended, as well as injured Sergio Cindoncha.

R. Racing C. - Girona FC (6:15pm)

The Catalans travel to face Racing on Sunday as they continue their march towards promotion. Girona are not taking their foot off the brake and have come out of their last four games with 8 points in the bag. The Cantabrians, on the other hand, need another win to add to their 1-0 victory over Albacete last weekend in order to move away from the drop zone. "Girona have extremely pacey men up front. They don’t lack confidence and are more than capable of playing in this division", stated Racing’s manager Francisco Fernández.

UE Llagostera - UD Las Palmas (7pm)

The Liga Adelante forerunners will be looking to hold onto their lead over second-placed Betis on Sunday. Paco Herrera’s men will be playing with their big guns, as will Llagostera who would climb out of the lower end of the table with another win.

"Llagostera are a very well organised team with a very similar playing style to Atlético Madrid. They are dangerous on the break. They have been improving over the last few games. If we win this game it will be strengthen the team", expressed the Canary Islanders’ manager in his pre-match press conference.

CD Lugo - CD Mirandés (9pm)

To wrap up the Liga Adelante matchday 22 action, Lugo and Mirandés will face off. Carlos Terrazas’ men will be looking to put the 2-0 defeat to Mallorca behind them with a win that would get them back on track. The Galicians, for their part, need another good performance as they currently sit just one point above the relegation zone.
