LaLiga takes part in grassroots coaching workshop in Abu Dhabi

In the latest example of LaLiga's strong ties with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC), Spanish football's organising body was heavily involved in the ADSC's recent Coach of Coaches workshop. Rafael Gil, a coach at the LaLiga High Performance Centre in Dubai, and Sergio Piernas, the methodology director at Atletico Madrid, took part in the event alongside Fernando Sanz, LaLiga's general director for the Middle East and North Africa and head of international sport projects.

Other participants in the workshop included officials from leading Emirati clubs such as Al Ain FC, Al Jazira FC and Al Wahda FC, and representatives from the UAE Football Association and the UAE Pro League Committee (PLC). The main aim of the event, which was geared towards youth and grassroots coaches, was to further the attendees' knowledge, enhance their skills and enable them to apply these actionable learnings in their day-to-day work with young players. "This is another step forward in our efforts in the UAE, particularly with respect to developing the grassroots football scene together with LaLiga coaches like Rafa Gil and Sergio Piernas," remarked Sanz.

The workshop was held at the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi Hotel and was attended by a total of 98 coaches from clubs, football academies and football schools across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
