On Friday 21 April, LaLiga signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National League of Professional Football in Honduras. LaLiga president Javier Tebas and Melcior Soler, the director of LaLiga's audiovisual department, met with Selim Bishara Canahuati, the president of the Honduran National League of Professional Football, to put pen to paper on the agreement. The delegation from the Honduran national league also had a meeting at LaLiga headquarters with other LaLiga representatives, such as Vicente Casado, LaLiga's managing director of international development, with whom they discussed other topics, including the international expansion project with which LaLiga is currently engrossed.

The agreement aims to strengthen the relationship between the two bodies through direct collaboration. LaLiga will support and collaborate with the Honduran league in order to promote development within professional football in the country. The combined efforts of both organisations will be focused on the different areas that LaLiga works on, such as security, integrity, audiovisual development, competitions and legal consultancy. Both sides will collaborate to organise and partake in presentations and seminars, and also to lead the fight against audiovisual piracy and any form of violence within football, two areas where LaLiga is working with particular endeavour.

The agreement with the Honduran league is yet another clear example of LaLiga's intention to strengthen links and work alongside other football leagues and organisations on the international stage. LaLiga is once again leading by example in terms of good practice and managing the different areas that it deals with. Leagues in countries such as Nigeria, Bolivia, Ecuador, Colombia, Japan and the Solomon Islands have previously shown interest in LaLiga's strategy and management methods, and different collaboration agreements have been reached to work in tandem in sporting, management and commercial fields.
