The LaLiga Legends continue to have a ball in Mexico and the locals continue to savour their presence. On Thursday, these illustrious former LaLiga Santander stars, who will face a team of Mexican ex-players at 20:00 in Toluca tonight (local time), had a fun-filled day of sporting action in the city.
Fernando Sanz, David Albelda, Jose Emilio Amavisca, Gaizka Mendieta, Christian Karembeu, Marcos Senna, Leo Franco and Ruben de la Red were joined by a number of members of the Mexican line-up to run a coaching clinic for kids, which thrilled all of the participants. Youngsters of all ages completed four different activities with the legends, who really got a kick out of seeing the children enjoy themselves.
"It was a really nice event. We saw the children have fun and the excitement on their faces, which is what it's all about. We were all kids once and we know what you feel when you have experiences like this one," said LaLiga ambassador Senna afterwards.
Meanwhile, Albert Luque, Koke Contreras, Francisco Pavon, Fernando Morientes and Joan Capdevila spent the morning trying their hand at footgolf, a quirky game combining golf and football. The Spanish legends put their skills and accuracy to the test in a tournament, competing among themselves and against some of their Mexican counterparts in a friendly atmosphere.
Following these activities, the full LaLiga Legends squad trained at Deportivo Toluca FC's Estadio Nemesio Diez, the stadium that will host their match against the Mexican maestros, which will cap their action-packed stay in the North American country.
