The LaLiga Santander matchday has come and gone and it is time to take a look at this week's LaLiga Fantasy MARCA Best XI, which features plenty of RC Deportivo and FC Barcelona players after their great performances on the weekend.
Los Blaugranas contribute the most players to this XI, with a total of three. They are followed by Depor with two members in this star-studded line-up, which also includes footballers from SD Eibar, D. Alaves, Levante UD, Real Madrid, Sevilla FC and Getafe CF. The Player of the Matchday is Celso Borges. The Deportivo player netted a brace in his side's massive win over UD Las Palmas.
Ter Stegen, the Barça shotstopper, keeps goal for the XI. In addition to putting in a superb display in his team's 2-0 away win over Athletic Club, he produced a number of fine saves to help secure all three points for the Catalan club at San Mames.
Eibar, Alaves and Barcelona bring us the back line. Anaitz Arbilla, who scored an absolute stunner in Los Armeros' draw against Levante, is joined by Alexis and Jordi Alba. Although Alaves suffered defeat at the hands of Valencia CF, Alexis played a brilliant game at the back and scored his team's only goal. Meanwhile, Jordi Alba was one of the star performers in the Athletic Club v Barcelona game, and provided the assist for Lionel Messi to open the scoring.
The midfield is led by the Player of the Matchday, Celso Borges. He is accompanied by Isco; Jose Luis Morales, who caused no end of headaches for the Eibar defence and scored one of Levante's two goals; Pablo Sarabia, who netted one of the best goals of the matchday; and Paulinho, who played superbly from start to finish and grabbed the second goal in the 2-0 victory at San Mames.
The leading line is composed of Lucas Perez and Angel. The Depor player is gradually getting back to his very best and scored again from the penalty spot. Meanwhile, Angel's strike kicked off Getafe's comeback against Real Sociedad.
