LaLiga and its clubs' official supporters' groups in Japan came together to celebrate the inaugural LaLiga Fan Day in the Asian country. The event, which took place at the ESTADIO sports bar in the Shibuya district of the Japanese capital, was attended by members of all five of the LaLiga clubs' official supporters' groups in Japan, which fly the flag for FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, SD Eibar, Athletic Club and RCD Espanyol.

In addition to supporters of the aforementioned clubs, several fans of the following teams also took part in the festivities: Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Valencia CF, Real Betis, RC Celta, Villarreal CF, Sevilla FC, CD Numancia and Cadiz CF. The event represented an opportunity to celebrate the silverware secured by Barça (the LaLiga title and the Copa del Rey), Los Blancos (the Champions League crown) and Atletico (the Europa League) during the 2017/18 campaign.

Speaking in his welcome address, the president of the Penya FC Barcelona Japan supporters' club, Hiroki Nakano, commented: "I'm really surprised to see just how many LaLiga fans there are in Japan. We've got to make the most of this opportunity to all grow together."

After reflecting on last term's achievements, Spanish football's organising body proceeded to announce the launch of LaLiga コース, a project developed alongside Tokyo's Cervantes Institute which bids to bring students closer to the cultural elements surrounding the Spanish game. Meanwhile, LaLiga also took the opportunity to present the work of the Aficiones Unidas fan group, an organisation which seeks, amongst other aims, to establish meeting points in an effort to promote the relationships between supporters, federations of supporters' groups, fan clubs and their members.

Before the attendees - who numbered over 60 - came together to pose for a group photo, a LaLiga-themed quiz was held in which the Japanese-based fans showcased their impressive knowledge of Spanish football.
