Casa Asia is the main public diplomacy organization in Spain on the Asia-Pacific region and is a meeting point for all actors interested in the area.
The award has been obtained in the category of Economy, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, for contributing to boost the image of Spain in Asia through soccer. According to statements made by Casa Asia, China, Japan and Singapore have become key countries in the internationalization strategy of LALIGA in Asia, which is doing important work for the development of soccer in the region. In addition, it also contributes to the integration of young Asians through sport by creating soccer schools and grassroots soccer projects. The award was collected on behalf of LALIGA by Marco de Santis, head of the International Development department, on behalf of LALIGA's Asian offices: Singapore (SEA, Japan and South Korea) and China.
"We are very proud of this award. It is a sign that the efforts made over so many years have paid off and LALIGA is being recognized globally for its work in the region. This year, projects such as LALIGA Academy Shanghai or LALIGA Club have been presented in China, as well as strategic agreements, such as those closed with CMG, CFA or CFL, which strengthen the commitment between both countries to promote soccer in the region. CFL has even appointed the president, Javier Tebas, as a strategic advisor, something that shows the link between both entities" said Sergi Torrents, Managing Director of the LALIGA China Office.
"The award is a consequence of the work and effort being made by LALIGA in Asia from the Global Network offices and delegates in their respective countries. In the SEA region, Japan and South Korea we have launched highly successful regional projects, such as LALIGA Youth Tournament, LALIGA Show or LALIGA Adventure, which have helped us to bring LALIGA and Spanish soccer closer to more and more people, including the younger audience," says Iván Codina, director of the Singapore Office, which covers the SEA, Japan and South Korea regions.
LALIGA wins the award after a long journey in Asia
The recognition that LALIGA has received with this award is a consequence of the effort that the entity has been making for more than a decade to expand the brand and strengthen an internationalization project that gives great prominence to the Asian continent.
In addition to all of LALIGA's initiatives to expand its brand internationally, great emphasis has also been placed on training and grassroots soccer projects for young people, promoting the development of local talent through techniques and methodologies inspired by the Spanish model.
LALIGA also collaborates with local sports federations and clubs to strengthen structures and create opportunities for growth in Asian soccer. This expansion not only increases LALIGA's visibility, but also fosters cultural and sporting exchange between Spain and Asia, consolidating its position as a global competition.
As Casa Asia highlighted as one of the reasons for the award, one of the key projects in the expansion of the brand has been LALIGA Academy, an umbrella initiative for global grassroots soccer projects: long-term projects such as academies (like LALIGA Academy Shanghai, LALIGA Schools Taiwan, LALIGA Academy Vietnam or LALIGA Academy Malaysia), stays and training courses, camps, talent scouting projects, training clinics or consultancy projects.
