LaLiga at the world's largest convention of football coaches

Thanks to the agreement with US Club Soccer, several experts and professionals from LaLiga are actively involved in the NSCAA Convention in Baltimore (USA).

Between 13 to 17 January, professionals and experts and professional from LaLiga are actively participating in the NSCAA Convention, the world's largest annual convention of football coaches. About 10,000 coaches, managers, directors, executives, players, referees, media, fans from the 50 American states and more than 30 countries participate in this gathering of soccer coaches held annually in the US and that, in this 2016 edition, takes place in Baltimore (Maryland).

Thanks to the agreement with US Club Soccer, LaLiga takes a prominent part in the event. Fernando Sanz, director general of LaLiga's Office for Middle East and North Africa and Director of International Projects of Laliga, and Michel Salgado, Liga BBVA Ambassador, led LaLiga's delegation in the Convention. Raul Gonzalez, country manager of LaLiga for US, was also present and was interested at first hand for the work done by American coaches.

During the first day, Sanz and Salgado participated in different activities and shared their experience as professional players with American coaches in a round table that had the title "A career in LaLiga and how to bring that experience to the US", which was followed by an autograph signing session. "It is a great honor to represent LaLiga at this convention along with US Club Soccer. From the Spanish football we can contribute a great deal to the development of soccer in the US. This country is a key location for us and after seeing this great participation, LaLiga will follow very closely the amateur and professional football in America to support their growth, " said Fernando Sanz, who spoke about LaLiga’s projects that are being carried out at international level as well as the partnership agreement between LaLiga and US Club Soccer and the different activities planned for the coming months.

LaLiga also attended practical classes on the pitch. Hugo Blanco, Sports Projects Coordinator of LaLiga, with Gari Fullaondo, Technical Advisor for LaLiga, directed the clinic: "Training methods in the academies of LaLiga: Developing top global footballers" and the technical class "Youth development in Spain. Methods and philosophy of LaLiga."

 

To complete the activities of each day during the convention, there was also discussion on the Superdraft of the Major League Soccer (MLS) and the largest convention of sports business in North America, with over 370 companies present at the site of Baltimore.

The presence of Spanish professional football in this prestigious convention reaffirmed the interest of Laliga for the development of football worldwide and its growing presence in the United States in its strategy of international expansion. The agreement with US Club Soccer also includes training seminars of coaches in different categories, online training, player development opportunities and various actions of coaching in Spain.
