On Wednesday morning, LaLiga president Javier Tebas dropped in on the studios of LaLiga's broadcaster in Hong Kong, Now TV. During his visit, Tebas highlighted the importance of the Asian market, stating that, "It's a very broad and interesting one. It's important that we exploit it to its full."

Tebas also offered his take on the Chinese investment being injected into Spanish clubs, declaring that: "It makes the clubs stronger in economic terms and attracts further investment into LaLiga, which is a positive thing." The president also revealed that LaLiga is working hard to organise events and games – similar to the recently staged Legends match in Iran and the LaLiga World fixtures played during pre-season – in Asia, and more specifically in China. The LaLiga chief went on to unveil details of plans to stage an Asian Trophy, as well as projects to hold public viewing events of some of the biggest games in the Spanish league.

By paying a visit to its broadcaster in Hong Kong, LaLiga has evidenced its interest in establishing closer links with its international broadcasters, with whom the organisation is working hand in hand to improve the quality of the product made available to fans in every country across the globe. As a part of its internationalisation strategy, LaLiga continues to grow throughout Asia, where in addition to rolling out various different training and commercial initiatives, the organisation now boasts two offices, one in China and the other in India.
