Honours even at Anoeta

Real Sociedad and Villarreal CF drew 0-0 in matchday 33 of Liga BBVA in a game that saw each side dominate a half. The result leaves David Moyes's men in 12th with 39 points while Marcelino's side are sixth with 53.

Villarreal initially took the initiative, and created the first opportunity of the game after 20 minutes from a dead ball. Jonathan dos Santos took the free kick and Tomás Pina headed unmarked at goal, but the Basque outfit's keeper kept his effort at bay. Real Sociedad could not get near Sergio Asenjo's goal, and Villarreal again went close six minutes before the break when Manuel Trigueros tested out Rulli in the home side's goal.

The second half saw the Basques come out with more intensity, and things completely changed from the first half. In minute 62 Iñigo Martínez tested out Asenjo from a corner. Marcelino's side looked to counter through Joel Campbell, however Chory Castro went closest as Asenjo kept his effort out and the tie finished 0-0
